Policies and Procedures For Massage Therapy

  • First Visit: Please arrive at least 15 minutes early on your first visit to fill out an in-take form and have our first meet and greet. It is courteous to arrive early each time for us to get a good feel for the present state of the whole body, mind and spirit as it serves and informs the session.

  • Payment: Payment is expected at the time of service. Gratuity is appreciated and commonplace. Check or Cash are a preferred form of payment. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted.

  • Cancellation Policy: If cancelling an appointment or rescheduling please do so with 24 hours of advanced notice. Emergencies and mistakes are considered but repeat cancellations without compensation will not be accepted.

  • Timeliness: Due to appointments that are scheduled after your appointment, it is expected you arrive early or on time to receive your full session. If you arrive late, you will receive your session with the leftover time that is allotted if another appointment is scheduled right after. You will be charged accordingly.

  • Professionalism: The sessions provided by BIJABodyWorks and any one-on-one work is considered extremely professional and private in nature, honoring the needs and respect of the client and practitioner. Any sexual advances made towards Mariza Dovis or any of the employees is a cause for termination of the session and possible restriction of any future appointments being made. Payment in full is expected.

  • Presentation: Great care and attention is created for the ambiance and cleanliness of the space and services provided by BIJA. It is expected that each client meet these same expectations by coming to their sessions with a clean body and clear of intoxication of drugs and alcohol when receiving treatment.

  • Contraindications: It is up to the discretion of Mariza Dovis when doing body work and massage that a session be cancelled due to conditions that may be harmful to address through massage therapy. Some examples of conditions are broken bones, open wounds, extreme sunburns, internal bleeding or unattended prolonged pain or condition that is out of the scope of massage therapy, energetic healing or body work. Please be mindful of your condition before receiving bodywork. Call if you have any questions.

  • Draping: During a bodywork session one can choose to have the body fully unclothed. Due to the ample training towards the respect of the privacy of the client, utmost care and respect is maintained by using blankets and towels. It is also accepted that some items of clothing remain on.

  • Confidentiality and Privacy of Information: All information shared between client and practitioner is kept private for use towards historical record keeping and future sessions. There is no information shared outside the scope of the client/practitioner relationship and all forms are kept in private files.

  • Thank you for your cooperation!
